The painting is structured but alive. A strong black form moves across the top;, architectural, almost silhouetted, anchoring the composition while the lower two-thirds opens into color and movement. Red and flame on the left, a delicate vine-like mark running vertically through the center, blue and water tones, and on the right a soft rising shape that seems to be reaching upward.

It has a narrative quality without being literal. Something is being resolved in it. The eye moves through it the way you move through a complicated feeling, finding each element in turn, arriving somewhere steadier than where you started.
