Madras Lilies

$670.00

An experiment with both brush and palette knife, the heavier color built up with the knife, the whites intentional and structural. Teal, gold, red, purple, and magenta: jewel tones that read as floral even when the forms stay abstract.

The name came from Madras fabric, that same collision of saturated color in loose, organic pattern. The lilies aren't literal. They're in the palette.

16 × 20 inches, acrylic on canvas
