Painted in the late fall of 2020, when settling down felt impossible. Grey, white, burnt orange, and black move across the canvas in the same direction, as if driven by wind from one side. A mast and rigging are visible in the upper right -- a boat somewhere in the storm. On the left, a dark shape that at least one viewer has seen as a horse.

The palette was deliberate in one way only: fall and winter holiday colors, neutrals this painter rarely reaches for. Everything else arrived unplanned, which is how that season felt.

36” x 24” acrylic on canvas. Framed in a walnut floating frame. Framed size is 37” x 25” x 1.5” Wired and ready to hang.
