Around it, warm tan and gray-blue layers build up and break apart, with a scribble of dark line at the upper left and a cluster of turquoise ovals, outlined in cream, gathered near the bottom. Crinkled tissue gives the surface a soft, weathered texture.

One of a group of paintings made by painting over earlier canvases and working on them side by side, so traces of the first paintings still show through in the texture.
