Painted at the beach on a windy day, quickly, with everything moving. Teal, yellow, magenta, red, and blue across a white ground, all of it going in the same direction at once.
When it was finished it reminded me of LeRoy Neiman: that same unrestrained color, that sense of a moment caught before it could slow down. He wasn't the inspiration. He was just who showed up when it was done.
